locations in london- Sharmin
The location was used for our extra filming because as mentioned before the yellowish tint in some of the footage could not have salvaged so there was a re-shoot. We chose to film in South Bank because the area is iconic and represents London which is something we wanted to show in the video because it linked well with the concept of "world." Also it would help the target audience engage with the video because of the usage of the famous landmarks.

Digipak update - Sharmin
The draft shows what the front cover will look like however the background will be used throughout the digipak in order to have a continuous theme. It is important to have a continuous theme because it attracts the target audience and encourages them to consume the product.
A problem occurred which delayed the process of the digipak. Other schoolwork had earlier deadlines meaning that I had to prioritise the schoolwork before continuing with the digipak. I also could not access the software InDesign used to create the digipak as I was producing the digipak outside of school therefore the process of producing a completed version of the digipak is delayed.

Editing Footage 2- Debo
Our extra shoot at Crystal Palace proved to be extremely helpful when editing our footage. We have also solved one of the problems which we encountered when editing previously with the yellow tint which comes up in some of our footage. By editing the hue of the image and enhancing the colour of the video in Final Cut express we can eliminate the majority of the yellow tint improving the look of the footage. This allows us to have more to edit in the music video.

Website Construction- Debo
We started our website construction using the cloud-based web development platform Wix this is a relatively new experience for us all who have no past experience with website design. We have desinged merchandise and inputed various images of 1 Nation which are constructed to have a lasting impact to increase the brand of our band. Additionally we plan to implement the use of social media to allow the band to connect with the fasn and we hope this along with images will heighten their Pop Star effect. A problem that we have encountered with the website design is that Wix is not compatible with all school computers only running on computers in the media classroom. To overcome this problem we will have a rota of each person that will work in the Media room during their free period to ensure the website is completed before the deadline.

Extra Shoot- Debo
We decided to shoot a few extra scenes for our music video due to a few unusable scenes from our previous shoots. This session was shot in Crystal Palace Park during sunset which provided us with beautiful yet limited lighting that none of our other sessions had provided us with before. One benefit of shooting in Crystal Palace park was lack of people in the park this allowed us to capture a better sense intimacy with our band members and their love interests. These intimate momets can have a immense effect on the music video and can even provide fans with gratification in the form of escapism aided with the sceneric and performance shoots.
(update) 10th march- Sharmin
This was a shooting day which required us to be outside in the park as the setting was tranquil and there was a lot of space. The space was needed as the boy band needed to dance in different locations. We have chosen to add a dancing element in the video because from Frith's theory, there are three main typologies used in music videos and from my research I have learnt that a performance element would be essential to use in order to attract and engage the target audience. After looking back at the editing and the footage that we collected we noticed that there was a lot of lip-syncing involved therefore we chose to have the boy band dance without lip-syncing as this will add to the idea of enjoyment and creative -"ruled the world." Having elements in the park also link to the idea of enjoyment as they have the freedom to dance in an open space

Update on filming
We are filming the performance element of the music video because many pop bought band videos have this element. We have also included a dance routine because this will allow the target audience to engage with the video and members of the band.
Additionally we had our boy band conform with the typical conventions associated with the boy band ensure our target audience felt at ease with this new boy band.

Editing Collected footage 1- Debo
After our series of planned shoots we have uploaded the collection of them onto our editing software, Final Cut Express to begin shifting through our footage and checking to see whether or not we need to plan any extra shoots in case we have insufficient footage to create the music video that will appeal to our target audience.
One issue we encountered when looking over our footage is that with one section of the footage gathered comes up in a yellowish tint which does not fit with the rest of the footage gathered. We are currently trying to salvage this footage and if that fails plan to perform a reshoot in a better environment.

Update 13th Jan- Debo
Today we began to organise our images taken in our photo-shoot last week. To ensure our images for the digipak and website were diverse we decided that we would only use each image once to give our fans a more content. In addition to this all images taken in our production will be uploaded to our website gallery as a way of illustrating the progression of this boy band. Due to our band members booked schedule we have to decided to hold off on shooting for this week as our band members who are also Harris students have an official drama test next week. In the meantime we will start to developing the photo-shoot images.

Response to Shooting Day- Debo
For this shoot session we needed a significant amount of time to shoot outside of school with our band members and their love interests. This involved Vaughn and Montel and their love interests played by Lauren and Kamara respectively. We shot performance elements of our actors performing and dancing and also singing their performance to their love interests at different locations around Croydon. It was a different experience and was slightly harder than our previous production shoots because it was in an open and busy location which had very little control over. Additionally the large part of the footage which consisted of Montel singing to Kamara and it was shot with minimal setback in the most suitable place. However when looking at the footage gathered later I saw that the footage is covered with a yellowish tint which I realised was due to the sunlight coming through window in the ceiling. This footage appears unusable however researching colour correction it appears that this footage can be salvaged.

Update (9th January) - Update - Second day of photos Debo
After reviewing our band images from our first image shoot we decided to take more images of our band members with a variety of different locations, and capture our groups performing an action. In order to provide the illusion of taking various images on different days we decided that Montel, Vaughn and Fran should bring different sets of clothing which they could change in and out to give us a wider variety of shots allowing us with a wider range to pick for our website and digipak. These varieties of shots helped emulate the boy band convention as their clothing and actions were alike to our teen target audience.

Music Video Inspiration- Sharmin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEYhGhdwMKI
The JLS music video inspired us because as a boy band, they had the element of performance which we could use in our music video. Simon Frith stated that music videos are characterised by three typologies. The performance typology is a common type where the group will singing while dancing. We liked the idea of having similar outfits to show the audience that they are in a group, making it easier for the target audience to recognise them. They are constructed by the industry to make out money from the audiences so it is important for audiences to recognise the boy band and sell the video. <br />
<br />
The back drop is similar to the costume colour that JLS are wearing which is visually interesting because it contrasts with the lighting. We liked how the lighting was made up of different colours because it looked simple but eye-catching. This will be useful to use in our music video because it will engage our target audience.

Change in our "Updated shooting script" - Sharmin
Our "Updated shooting script" was an idea that we came up with during production. However there has been changes as the characters have changed.
Kendall -- Francisco
Logan -- Vaughn
Iyaz -- Montel
As the characters have swapped the location to London is unnecessary to use. So we have chosen the character Logan to have his verse in a classroom and singing to his love interest. While Francisco's character, Kendall, will have his verse in a house party and singing to the camera and the guests at the party.
